There have been so many names tossed around for the female lead of Punit Malhotra‘s next film with Imran Khan, that we have to hope this is the final one. Word has it that Kareena Kapoor has been signed on for the film after meeting with Karan Johar recently.
She has now allotted dates for this film instead of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Ram Leela, which she either walked out of or was told she couldn’t do because of her to-be “married” status. The film will see her in a romcom opposite Imran Khan for their second outing after Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which was, incidentally, also under the Dharma banner.
Personally, while I enjoyed EMAET and thought Kareena and Imran worked well together, I would have really liked to see him with a new face – I preferred their first choice, Parineeti Chopra. However, the film apparently requires two leading ladies, so I have to wonder – is is Kareena really Parineeti’s replacement, as news doing the rounds suggest? Or is the film going to feature them both?
