The summer has arrived! Here’s a guide to what’s “in” and what’s “out” in movies, fashion, and more for the summer of 2012!
Movie Sequels
Sequels are inevitable. Hollywood is interested in capitalizing on films that are box office successes. But some movies that are most definitely OUT:
1. Men in Black III.
Starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones this installment has the characters going back to the sixties. The script was not even complete when production started. You get a feeling of deja vu when you watch it, mostly because the plot is unoriginal.
2. The Amazing Spider-Man.
This is supposed to be a sequel, but feel more like a remake. The new stars are Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The storyline is slow and comic book lovers may not appreciate the fact that the villains are so unfamiliar.
Two movies that are IN:
1. The Bourne Legacy.
Starring Jeremy Renner, who brings a fresh new interpretation to the main character makes it exciting and fun to watch the globe-hopping, gun-toting assassin!
2. The Expendables 2.
Similar to the ’80s version, but more spectacular this one stars Sylvester Stallone, Liam Hemsworth and Randy Coutour.
Fashion 2012
Inexpensive and colorful dresses are in vogue this summer. Women can stay cool and be fashionable in dresses that come in various lengths and styles. Many of the items can be purchased online. A good option is the sporty Lole Energic Dress. It is sheer and knee-length with a scoop neck. The material is 94% nylon and 6% elastane. This item comes in black, white and pink. The price is only $70 (3,900rs)
High-end items are OUT this year because of economic trends.
Vacation packages
Distance travel is IN. The hottest destinations are:
1. London, England, which will host the 2012 summer Olympics. People from around the world want to be present to see the top athletes compete.
2. Belize had been an off-the-beaten-path island—until now! Curiosity about the country has risen, because it will host several events on the supposedly impending 2012 apocalypse. Many tourists will flock to the amazing ruins of Xunantunich.
Staycations are OUT, Try to scrape together enough money to go on a getaway!
Fitness Regimens
Outdoor activities are IN: tennis, bike-riding and swimming are all very popular right now. It is spiritually uplifting to be outside, communing with nature. People are also going hiking in groups at nature preserves. All of these activities are aerobic and help to build muscle. The economy is still fragile, so it is prudent to participate in low-cost exercise routines.
Being a couch potato is definitely OUT:
During the summer of 2012, being entertained, healthy, stylish and well-traveled are all INs So go out, have fun, and be a part of the summer!
