I’ve always been a major Junior B fan right from when I saw Dostana. So, I was absolutely elated when MissMalini asked me to be at the launch of Dainik Bhaskar’s second edition of Bollywood awards with the Bol Bachchan team.
Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan (so glad I finally met him) along with their director Rohit Shetty officially launched the second edition of these awards ( or the year 2011) which has some pretty interesting categories like Macho Man of the year and Item Girl of the year. Who would you pick for these two categories?
DB’s Bollywood awards are one of the very few democratic awards in the country in which the winners are picked completely by the viewers.
Ajay who never accepts jury-based awards won the DB award last year for his power-packed performance in Singham but this one he accepted as he believes his movies are for the public and their vote’s really special and basically all that counts. I bet Salman Khan couldn’t agree more. Abhishek also spoke about the junta and how their love and appreciation can really be the best award for an actor.
Rohit Shetty however was not as politically correct as his actors. When he was asked about his excitement on winning the DB People’s Choice award for Singham last year, he said he’d hate to be hypocritical and say that he was very over the moon but he did feel happy like he would if he won any other award as well. Ouch, now that ought to hurt!
