For a fashion observer like me I’m always stalking celeb style blogs looking out for celebs wearing some of the best couture and designer collections. So when a celebrity does repeat her outfit I can’t help but feel a bit cheated.
Enter Kate Middleton who has managed to whip her wardrobe into shape and make it totally “chiconomical”. Which means being chic but economical at the same time. Middleton smartly recycles some of her wardrobe staples and is unapologetic about it. Across the pond America’s First Lady Michelle Obama too was snapped wearing the same outfit on different occasions. I have to hand it to them, with their mix and match of accessories they keep it interesting. Now here’s inspiration for me to bring out outfits that I’ve stashed at the back of my closet!
Tips on how to make your wardrobe more chiconomical:
- Invest in basics: An LBD, a classic blazer and white shirt should be the building blocks of your wardrobe.
- Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize! Costume jewellery can really transform your look and can transform your outfit.
- Layer: Wear a T-shirt over a dress or tuck it into your jeans for a new twist. Throw a blazer over a dress for a formal look.
- Swap your regular day bag for an oversized clutch, it can change your whole silhouette.
