The joint production venture between Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor ran into a spot of trouble when Kareena Kapoor (who had previously agreed to the film) stepped out because she was allegedly not keen on working with Emraan Hashmi. All seems to be well now, though, as Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play the lead.
The film is a heroine-oriented one, which worked perfectly for Deepika – she apparently wants to do different films and push herself further. If rumors are to be believed, Kareena backtracked and said she wanted to be part of the project again, but by this time the makers felt it wouldn’t be right to axe Deepika, and they thought she’d do a great job anyway.
