Okay friends, this event that I’m going to talk about now
will surely
might not get you too excited. Stefano Tonchi, the editor-in-chief of possibly the most clued-up fashion magazine out there ‒ the W magazine ‒ hosted a cocktail party in honour of Frida Giannini, Gucci’s creative director, and Gucci’s CEO Patrizio di Marco at New York on the 7th of June. (I’ll forever be indebted to W for making David Beckham go platinum blonde for their August, 2007 issue *swoon*) But the reason I’m bringing this event up is because I spotted a gorgeous, gorgeous dress on one of the guests ‒ and I’d like you all to check it out as well!!!!
It was on Rula Jebreal, an Italo-Palestine journalist/author. I’m in love with this Art Deco-inspired black multi-layered dress on georgette satin with all over bugles embroidery from Gucci’s S/S’12 line. Isn’t it stunning?
Australian actress Bella Heathcote was there, too. She wore the charming azalea oshibana degradé printed silk chiffon long sleeve v neck gown cinched at the waist with a slim black leather belt from Gucci’s Pre Autumn (Pre Fall) 2012 line.
Frida Giannini of course had to wear Gucci, that too a first dibs from the just unveiled, impressive Cruise (Resort) 2013 collection. The colour of the silk georgette dress ‒ i.e. pale lilac ‒ was simply divine. Wish she had her hair tied up to properly display the pretty little embroidery on the neckline.
Other Gucci-clad guests at the soiree include Rachel Zoe, Maggie Betts, Georgina Bloomberg, Andrew Dominik, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Brit Marling, Jamie Tisch, Yvonne Force Villareal and Elettra Weidemann.
Mike Cahill,
the hair ‘god’
celebrity hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai with wife Shirin and Charles Rockefeller were there, too.
