A few weeks ago, we told you that on an upcoming Madame Tussauds world tour, the wax statues of Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit-Nene have been dropped from the exhibition for no apparent reason. No worries however because you can still get up close and personal with Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.
In fact, our regular reader, Priya Walia, got the opportunity to visit Madame Tussauds in Bangkok when it had opened and she had a nice time clicking photos with her favourite Bollywood stars.
Here’s what she tells us: “As I work as marketing executive in a hospitality company, we have affiliations with Madam Tussaud Bangkok that’s how my company got the invite for this event. Being a huge Bollywood fan, I told my boss that I wanted to go for it and he agreed. So I went for the event with a friend and it didn’t start on time as usual (more like Indian standard time) so we toured the museum while we waited!
When it was finally time to unveil the statues, the emcee began by giving a short intro about each of the stars – Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwraya Rai Bachchan, ShahRukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. The best part is that while giving the intro, a song from each of their movies was being played, which I thought was a good idea, as I enjoy listening to Indian songs and was singing along!”
Priya adds: “In my opinion amongst all the statues I think Big B. and Hrithik looked the most life-like with Hrithik in his Dhoom 2 look, being my fave! I took the most pics with him. The least life-like has definitely gotta be SRK. Kareena looks good too. I love her outfit which is the attire from the Mauja Mauja song. I so wanted to take it off and run away with it :-)”
