The brains behind funky western designer label Araiya, Arshiya is one of the most stylish girls I know (and currently being sorely missed on the Mumbai circuit!) She designs and produces for fashion houses like Kimaya, Fuel and Re as well as Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon and Globus retailing in India and abroad aside from designing for film and television. And now she’s agreed to blog about all things fashion for me from her new home in Dubai, stay tuned!
I am all about Fashion. I dream of clothes when I’m asleep, and I make them when I’m awake! This obsession probably stems from being brought up in a pile of clothes by a family that has been in garment manufacturing for over 30 years. I’ve wanted to be a fashion designer ever since I made my first atrocious see-through dress at the age of 14! I then studied fashion for 8 years and have now been in the industry for another 15. It should be no surprise then that I’ll be blogging about all things fashion!
In my blog series on MissMalini.com, I’ll give you my take on current international trends (ones that are relevant and can be incorporated in your wardrobe), tell you what’s in stores today, what I call, ‘Window Reporting’, along with some fun fashion conversations. And don’t worry, I’ll keep it crisp!
Coral
If you want to stand out, this is the colour for you.
I love this Tory Burch dress, and the way it’s been spiked with a twist of blue. If the added colour is more than you can handle, then just stick with one solid colour.
This coral tube dress from Lipsy, London is great because with it, you’ve not only covered the colour trend, but also the visible zipper and the peplum look!
If bright colours are not your thing, and you still want to give it a shot, try this Bebe look. Use a bit of the colour and break it with neutrals like white, black and beige. Smart, chic and can be worked from day to night!
