Before he was shot dead in July 1997, Italian designer Gianni Versace was pretty much THE most famous designer on the planet. With clients like Princess Diana, Cher, Elizabeth Hurley (remember her safety-pin dress) and Madonna, he was also the one who sent out a slew of models onto the catwalk – Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington – making them supermodels and superstars, overnight.
In 2010, an interesting documentary was release called Versace – Final 24, which takes a look at what he did twenty-four hours before he was murdered. It also has interviews with model, Janice Dickenson, Gianni’s partner Antonio D’Amico, close friends and colleagues. Now it’s also out on DVD so if you’re a fan of the designer, check it out!
