I’ve always marveled at how my buddy Devraj Sanyal can be both a high powered CEO (currently the head of Universal Music) AND the lead singer of an epic Heavy Metal band called Brahma. It’s taken me a decade to wrap my head around this fact (while he’s been doing this for nearly two.) In another first of it’s kind innovation, Brahma performed a live acoustic set for the first time ever at Blue Frog two weeks ago, and I caught it all on camera! Take a look.
Oh, and I think I finally managed to shock Nowshad, *lol* he’s never seen Devraj perform live and considering what a teddy-bear he is in real life it’s kinda scary to see him in this avatar. Watch!
Kinda cool that A Second Too Late is inspired by a John Grisham book!
Also awesome that Uday Benegal another music legend from Indus Creed (formerly known as Rock Machine) fame joined Brahma on stage for a song. I LOVE that Brahma introduced a female vocalist Shefali Alvares into the mix and you won’t believe the voice on this girl, wow.
Watch this space to win copies of Brahma 3, which they are currently in studio recording, it’s going to be a rager! And how awesome that their superfan Rick has followed them since their first show two decades ago?
PS. Devraj’s wife Nikita Sanyal and I go way back to those Go 92.5 FM radio days where the magic all began, remember those? Ya, me too. xoxo
Stay tuned for when/where to watch the whole show on BIG CBS Spark, and win copies of their new album when it’s out!
