I love that when we posted this blog about Ishaqzaade, Kashish posted a comment on my Facebook Wall that she knew Parineeti Chopra from school! Here’s a cute little flashback blog from her, exclusively for you. xoxo
I still remember the time when this little girl stood quietly at the podium at the morning assembly, blushing, when the school congratulated her for her sister (Priyanka Chopra) being crowned as Miss World. And who would have thought that twelve years from that time, she would rock the entire country with her ten (and counting) awards!
Parineeti Chopra was always a heartthrob for many in our school – Convent of Jesus and Mary, Ambala. My immediate junior, she was always way up in the front – be it dramatics, sports or any other extra-curricular activity for that matter. I have always known her as a bubbly, happy-go-lucky kid, who is compassionate by nature. The one solution for most things for our school principal, Parineeti was always chosen by her to coach the school choir. What happened after that was a series full of laughter, fun and random singing, which was a treat to watch.
She may have proven herself as a tremendous Bollywood actress with Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, but (as I wrote to her the first time she tweeted about her entering the film industry) I still remember her as the little girl who looked oh-so-awesome as the eldest of the Vontrapp family from the The Sound of Music play we did in school! Of course, I being the average senior was part of the background
setting and props team!
Watching her now on the big screen not only makes me proud, but also so nostalgic about the wonderful times we spent together as kids in school, and all I can say is – Way to go, Girl! 😀
