Gauri Says “We didn’t become friends overnight. I think bonds which form that quickly break just as quickly.” Sussanne adds, “We do go long back, we became friends after I got married. We share this beautiful energy.”
They have to be the hottest (and most fit) wives of Bollywood, who are always behind their men a 100%. Yet there is more to them than meets the eye, behind the Louboutins, Birkins and Chanels there are two creative minds and business women, who if the need be, their men could easily fall back on. Vogue interviewed Gauri Khan and Sussanne Roshan for their latest April issue, and touched upon their new design venture together.
Speaking about their design sensibilities they say, “Both of us are artistically inclined, but in very different ways. I’m really attracted to industrial lines and eclectic mix. There’s also a more boho, grungy side to me. Gauri, on the other hand, has a classic, subdued look.” Gauri first took a keen interest in interior design when she decorated her own Mannat and soon realized she had a flair for it. Which is why it comes as no surprise that Gauri would choose Sussane’s The Charcoal Project to retail out of. I’m sure the collection of furniture will sell out as soon as it’s ready to launch!
