Residents of Bandra, rejoice! After a prolonged wait, Indigo Deli – one of the few reliably good restaurant chains in Mumbai – is finally ready to open its doors in Bandra tomorrow (Wednesday 25th April). If there’s one thing that can be said about restauranteurs Rahul & Malini Akerkar, it’s that they’re consistent. Replacing the space previously occupied by Da Vinci in Pali Naka, we’re happy to report that this latest addition to the growing Indigo Deli family is exactly as you would expect – a great experience all around. Keep reading for our sneak peek inside this latest outlet!
With interlocking tabletops reminiscent of Blue Frog, Indigo Deli Bandra features many of the same design elements of its sister establishments: chalkboards announcing the day’s specials, wines and jams neatly stacked on shelves against the walls, an assortment of designer table- and cookware on display, and a large, gleaming open kitchen.
Most importantly, of course, is what comes out of the kitchen, and here Indigo Deli doesn’t disappoint. You’ll find the exact same fresh salads, inviting sandwiches, comforting breakfast foods and appetizing main courses the Deli is famous for. A standout new addition to the menu has to be the Eggs on the Beach – think Eggs Benedict with a crab cake in place of the English muffin. Light, savoury, and perfectly balanced with creamy hollandaise.
Fans of dining al fresco will be happy to know the restaurant features outdoor seating, adorned with the customary baked goods for sale.
Not to be overlooked are the thin crust pizzas…
And then of course, there’s dessert.
