Director Madhur Bhandarkar is no stranger to controversy! Whether he’s being sued by some starlet for taking advantage of her or whether it is about him copying someone else’s script, the maverick director always manages to attract controversy – especially when one of his films is in the making or about to be released!
The latest is that four years after the Priyanka Chopra starrer, Fashion, released, someone (and he hasn’t named the person), is suing him for copyright infringement.
He writes on Twitter, “Now someone has gone to court for the copyright infringement of my film Fashion after four years and demanding 2.5 crores. In the past my films Page 3, Trafic Signal and Jail, claiming to be their concepts were dismissed by legal courts and writers association. I am sure they will be ready with their petition for my upcoming film, Heroine, also which is in making right now for their fifteen seconds of fame.”
And while might guarantee fifteen minutes of fame for the accusers, it translates into reams of newsprint and hours of discussions on TV channels!
Quite the Win-Win-Situation, what say?
