In this first press conference post his return to India after receiving treatment in the U.S. for cancer, cricketer Yuvraj Singh spoke about his battle with cancer, his inspiration and his return to cricket. Yuvraj stated that chemotherapy cycles left him depressed, but he has learnt a lot of things from cancer and believes that, in the future, he may realize it may have been the best thing to happen to him. He found inspiration in the practicality of the chemotherapy patients and now considers himself part of “the cancer family.”
As for his return to cricket, Yuvraj said he can’t wait for the day where he can put on the India cap on his head once more. However, he does not plan to rush it at all and wants to concentrate on first getting healthy again. He wants to make sure he is absolutely fit before he returns to the field, and said he will give it his all to get to that stage.
Here’s hoping he gets better very soon and goes back to doing what makes him the happiest!
