Last evening, the Crossword bookstore in Juhu and Popular Prakashan, hosted the launch of the book Raajneeti – The Film & Beyond by Pooja Varma. The launch was attended by Director of the film Prakash Jha and the lead actress, Katrina Kaif.
This book describes the journey of Jha’s blockbuster movie, Raajneeti. It explores minutely, all the details of cinematography, costume design and art direction. Of how the crew took over the city of Bhopal, of how Bhopal loved it, how every single actor and crew member – despite working on it for several tedious months – was still blown away when they saw the film they had created together.
Arjun Rampal was also supposed to attend but according to Jha, Arjun had a case of food-poisoning and so, he had to skip attending the event. However, Katrina and Prakash Jha spoke about what it was like working on the film and here’s what they had to say:
