From his spectacular debut in Himalay Putra and Border to Subhash Ghai‘s dazzling musical, Taal, Akshaye Khanna has won over audiences and critics with his remarkable acting skills. I loved him in Farhan Akhtar’s cult classic, Dil Chahta Hai where he played a cool artist and a great buddy to perfection. His intense portrayal even won him a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor that year. The fact that he could go from playing a con-artist in Humraaz to a funny guy next door in Hulchul and Hungama shows how versatile he truly is as an actor.
With Race, Akshaye proved yet again that he could pull off negative characters with the greatest of ease and he looked totally awesome too. Critics believe that his portrayal of Harilal Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi‘s eldest son) in Gandhi My Father is his best performance ever but I know for sure that his best work is yet to come. His newest flick, Gali Gali Chor Hai is about a common man’s struggle against corruption and I hope it’s like a comeback of sorts because we really want to see a lot more of him on the silver screen.
Team MissMalini wishes Akshaye Khanna a joyous birthday filled with love and a rocking year ahead.
