The launch of the 4th Nashik International Film Festival took place yesterday at Cinemax in Andheri by adman Prahlad Kakkar, actor Jaaved Jaafferi and Mukesh Kaneri, Festival Director, NIFF. Joining them at the event was Vidya Malvade, Baba Azmi and his wife Tanvi Azmi.
The event marked the official announcement of the launch of the 4th Nashik International Film Festival which is conceptualized to promote independent cinema across genres for the film fraternity in India and abroad.
The festival kick-starts from Friday, 23rd March’12 to Sunday, 25th March’12.
Dedicated to Shri Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, the three day fiesta promises an interesting line-up of events such as rarely watched documentaries, award winning short films, interactive workshops, challenging competitions, intellectual discussions combined with wine appreciation workshops, visiting vineyards and attending wine and cheese fests. The event is hosted by Metro Foundation of India and the Kalavaibhav Sanstha, Nashik, and is supported in association with Government of Maharashtra and Film Division of India.
