How many of you are gearing up for the Sunburn Festival right here in Mumbai? I’ve been hearing major plans being labored over amongst my friends, and one of the biggest questions is… What to wear dude? Unlike Goa where you can do your own thing and practically walk around naked (or in a bikini), it might be a tad bit distasteful to do so at this new city venue – Tulip star. So here are some items we suggest; considering most of you will be heading back to mommy and daddy’s after it’s all done!
Are these too Short?
A pair of shorts whether high waist, denim, leather, minuscule or ripped (fashionably) are a must-have, especially if you plan on dancing like there is no tomorrow. The size of the shorts really depends on two things, how gorgeous your legs are and how comfortable you are. We love bright coloured shorts, but prints are also a great style statement especially if you’re keeping the rest of your outfit simple.
Crop Me Out
I’m really feeling the crop top this summer, and it’s super cute for a music festival too. Don’t get too tummy flashy with this trend though, pair your crop top with high waist skirts or shorts so that there is a tease of flesh. Remember to opt for loose crop tops so that you’re not restricted by something that is too fitted.
A Head of the Crowd
Fascinators, hats or bohemian hairbands are the best accessory apart from the usual bling you’re going to throw on. Messy hair looks even hotter when styled with hair accessories that lend that bit of funk to the whole look. I would also suggest interesting hats, doesn’t matter if you’re not directly in the sunlight. Floppy sun or straw hats are a fun element to add to your look.
Dress me up!
Day dresses are a great transitional piece, as you can head on to a club right after the festival is done, all you need to do is add on a pair of heels or accessories (that you’ve left in the car) and you’re good to go for round 2 of partying! I love the ease and femininity of an A line day dress, also it’s casual and comfortable so a good option for a music festival.
No fuss in Boots
The flat boot is ultra sexy when worn with short skirts or shorts. The idea is to have a really chunky looking, almost man boot and pair it with flirty girly clothes. The flat boot will keep you looking very cute and also you’ll be able to jump to those EDM tracks without twisting an ankle. This is one time I say do away with heels, and get ready to Sunburn!
