A few weeks ago, we wrote about designer Pria Kataria Puri unveiling a painting of herself by artist Anjana Kuthiala. The artist has also painted portraits of Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur and Saba Ali Khan (who is also a princess).
Recently in Delhi, the Danish Ambassador, Mr. Freddy Svane, hosted an evening for Anjana where she unveiled these, and other portraits featuring Vidya Balan and a also a number of Delhi’s well-heeled socialites!
These paintings are from the MAYA-SHAKTI-MAA collection and are a tribute to a woman’s inherent charm, strength and the astounding talents and abilities possessed by her.
Most importantly, we found that Anjana (an ex Miss India) approaches rich, well-known and well-to-do women to get portraits painted by her and then they have to buy it at a few lakhs each.
At the launch of Pria’s painting in Mumbai, she offered to paint the portrait of a well-known jeweler from Mumbai and then told the lady, “Of course, you will need to buy it because I don’t think anyone else will.”
The lady replied, “Of course I will! I don’t want my some stranger waking-up each morning and looking at me hanging on their wall!”
What a super marketing opportunity, don’t you think?
