I’m very excited about the ‘Cool Japan Festival’ that is celebrating 60th Anniversary of Japan-India Diplomatic Relations. They started with Narendra Kumar’s Calendar and now they bring us this festival that will be held at High Street Phoenix from the 16th to the 18th. It’s a delightful mix of food, music, entertainment, fashion and interestingly… robots!
Something to look forward to are the Wadaiko drum show (which will be performed by 12 drummers) and the Kimono Dance show by a Maiko (apprentice Geisha). I can’t wait to see these ancient forms of art, plus just like at Harajuku, young Indian anime fans get to go all out dressing up as their favorite characters. So if you’re a big Japan enthusiast and just haven’t got the time to plan a visit to the country, get a taste of it right here in aamchi Mumbai!
