Aamir Khan may refuse to attend award ceremonies, but there’s no denying that he deserves a bunch on his shelf. He’s probably one of the best actors we have today, and his career is remarkable because of quality, not quantity. He’s done comparatively fewer films, and from those films have emerged some real gems. Let’s wish this ace actor a very happy birthday by taking a look at some of his best films!
1. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
This was the film that catapulted Aamir Khan to fame in 1988. This Romeo and Juliet-style movie made its way into the hearts of many, and I have to admit, I certainly didn’t mind that Aamir went through the whole movie saying “Rashmi” 😉
2. Andaz Apna Apna
I love how cracktastic this movie is – too funny. Aamir is at his most hilarious here. In fact, I loved it so much, I did a Two Minute Movie on it here.
3. Rangeela
Did any of us not like Rangeela back in the day? Aamir’s portrayal of the tapori character is still one of his most famous.
4. Raja Hindustani
Raja Hindustani was Aamir’s first Best Actor award. Love how cute he is in this song!
5. Lagaan
Lagaan is undoubtedly one of Aamir’s most famous movies, and among one of his best performances.
6. Dil Chahta Hai
Just post Lagaan, we saw Aamir in a completely different character in Dil Chahta Hai. I love, love, love this film. He won me over only with his dialogue: “Meri baat maan, kisi ko kuch mat bata. Aaj Pooja, kal koi duja.” *lol*
7. Rang De Basanti
No doubt one of Aamir’s best films, where he goes from carefree to passion-driven based on certain situations.
8. Taare Zameen Par
I love how Aamir can make a message-oriented movie so entertaining. This one is fab.
9. Ghajini
Super acting, super body. If there’s one thing this guy’s got, it’s dedication.
10. 3 Idiots
What’s there not to say about 3 Idiots? Like I mentioned with TZP, I love how he can make a message-oriented film so entertaining. And 3 Idiots is loads of fun. I can watch this movie several times and not get bored.
