Our MissMalini lifestyle blogger, Ranjit Rodricks, is going in a tizzy waiting for this Disney Couture show. He has every right to be this excited, because they’ve chosen Little Shilpa and Nitin Bal Chauhan, as their designers. Both have created pieces based on the Memories of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Disney couldn’t have chosen better designers for their first ever Lakmé Fashion Week show, because both of them have an eye for the extraordinary, and love making avant-garde pieces, that amaze the crowd.
It’s going to be an absolute whimsical pleasure to watch, I’m sure, especially after getting glimpses of what is to come at the fittings. Nitin looks like he is going quite literal with the Mickey Mouse inspiration, with his metallic button creation on Surelee Joseph, whereas Little Shilpa’s looks less obvious (but I’m sure it’ll have more of the cartoon’s characteristic in the minute details).
