A number of Bollywood stars have, in the past, launched their own perfumes, but very honestly, none of them have been run-away successes. In fact, if you try to shop for one today, you’ll probably find them only online and not on the shelves at the nearest mall.
Unlike perfumes by Jennifer Lopez, Brittney Spears and Victoria Beckham, which fly off the shelves, the ones by our Indian stars fizzled out after the initial euphoria.Zeenat Aman was the first star to launch Zeenat de Paris in the early 90’s with Shah Rukh Khan launching SRK in 1998. Not to be left behind, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar launched Lata Eau De Parfum in the year 2000.
Then, in 2002, Amitabh Bachchan tied up with Lomani to launch Amitabh B, followed by Shah Rukh Khan launching yet another scent called Tiger Eyes in 2005.
And now, Ra.One actor Arjun Rampal is taking a shot at launching his own perfumes – one for men and another one which is unisex, called, Alive.
To be launched on the 12th of January in Mumbai, the scent is produced by Drom Fragrances International.
We’ll bring you the coverage of the launch, so stay tuned to MissMalini.com
