This week I’ve been to two fashion events and the predominant trend was very pink lips. We saw this look on international runways for Fendi, Diane Von Furstenberg and Jil Sander for their Fall 2011 collections. Regardless of when it was in fashion, it’s just beginning to pop up in India. As we’re leading up to spring/ summer and we’re shedding away those cardigans I thought why not do a little post on ‘pink puckers’. The great thing about this trend is that there is a bright pink shade to suit all our skin tones.
Nina Manuel
I met Nina Manuel at the recent Lakmé Fashion Week male & female auditions, sporting deep pink lips. She played up her dusky skin tone with a touch of bronzer on her cheeks, and a good dose of mascara. The trick to this look is to apply a little bit of that bronzer over you eye lids to give your face a sun kissed look; this will balance out those pink lips. I suggest going for Lickable by M.A.C or Currupt by Illamasqua.
Sucheta Sharma
We interviewed Sucheta Sharma at the La Senza launch a fews days back and couldn’t help but notice her barbie pink lips. Unlike Nina, Sucheta went for a more girly approach, with a hint of pink blush and eyeshadow, along with thin eyeliner. If you think it’s a bit too much pink for your taste then just skip the blush and eyeshadow. Try this look with Sephora’s Love Test or Kat Von D’s Foiled Love Lipstick in Valentine.
