Working for MissMalini.com means keeping track of your events and your days, which is why I rely on my calendar. I’m not tech savy enough for all these online calendars; I like to write down just where I’ll be for real – it’s the only way I remember! Which is why I’m dying to get my hands on Narendra Kumar’s Cool Japan Calendar.
The clothing was modelled by actress/model Giselle Monteiro and photographed by Prasad Naik. Kenta Miyauchi, a local Japanese hair and make up specialist, was brought on board for the project as well. I think it’s going to look brilliant hanging on any wall. I love the play on the modern and traditional; it’s the one aspect that most captivates me about Japan, and it’s so evident in the calendar and Narendra’s designs.
The whole calendar looks at Japan from an Indian designer’s perspective. They visited places such as Yukushima & Hokkaido, not just the typical and popular Tokyo or Okinawa, and it’s because of this experience and traveling to these places, that the clothes Narendra has designed for his collection have such a unique Japanese influence.
