Friday evening saw Neeta Lulla, one of Bollywood’s top costume designers, launch her latest collection (at Aza, Juhu) of wedding and trousseau ensembles, inspired by the erstwhile Royals of Hyderbad.
Neeta has fashioned some pretty ornate churidaars, short angarkhas and anarkalis, lavish lehengaas and scintillating sarees inspired by the historical Hyderabadi palaces. The elegant garments pay poetic tribute to the rich craftsmanship and traditions of Hyderabad in fabrics like using beautiful fabrics like georgette, chiffon and raw silk.
The collection is colourful, vibrant, opulent, stylish and above all… wearable!
Talking about her new line, Neeta Lulla says, “The new Hyderabadi collection evokes pristine vision of royalty and nobility whilst being an eclectic fusion of modernity and tradition. It is ideal for the woman of today who doesn’t consider herself to be any less than the queens of yesteryears. It is affordable yet elusive and elitist!”
Spotted at the event were designer Ana Singh, actresses Genelia D’souza and Hrishita Bhatt, Govinda’s wife and daughter – Sunita and Narmada Ahuja, singer Shibani Kashyap and Poonam Dhillon.
