I realized we haven’t had a best dressed list in a while, which may be due to the fact that the award season hasn’t yet taken off in full swing. We’re still waiting for the biggest of them all – the Oscars (well at least I am!). Till then let’s cast our attention onto the celebrities who walked the red carpet at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. Winner Robert Pattinson is looking a tad bit homeless, sorry but I’m still team Jacob.
No. 1: Lea Michele
Trust Marchesa to make the most exquisite fringe dress we’ve seen in a while. I love the way it enhances Lea Michele’s curves, in the most glamorous way possible. The touch of sparkle, with the Jimmy Choo pumps and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery, adds to that ultimate old world charm. I love that Lea went with a barbie pink lipstick to keep herself looking youthful.
No. 2: Ginnifer Goodwin
Modern day Jackie O. with a bit of Audrey Heburn? Perhaps that’s what Ginnifer Goodwin’s stylist was aiming for, and we think she pulled it off brilliantly. It takes a lot of guts to wear fuchsia pink on the red carpet but this Roksanda Ilinicic dress is rocking the minimal trend. The simple Kzeniya clutch and drop dead sexy Jimmy Choo booties really take this look to a whole new level of red carpet fashion.
No. 3: Vanessa Hudgens
It’s a tad bit 1920s Morticia Adams maybe, but I have to say this look works for Venessa Hudgens. I’m glad that Jenny Packham covered the cleavage, so it wasn’t in-your-face sexy. I don’t think I’d be able to handle so much skin show, especially after her very public displays of affection with boyfriend Austin Butler. Apart from that I think the Judith Leiber clutch and Casadei heels complimented the look.
No. 4: Kelly Osburne
Kelly Osbourne looks very fashion forward in her Honor dress. I love the colour block and piping detail down the front. While most wouldn’t agree with me, the dirty grey/brown hair is actually the perfect ‘punk’ aspect for the young miss, reminiscent of her wild and pink hair days. She finishes the look with Casadei heels and Roseark jewels.
No. 5: Kristen Bell
Red leather on the red carpet – why not? Especially when you’ve got a smoking hot body and you’re Kristen Bell. Doesn’t she just ooze good girl/bad girl appeal!? Can you imagine that the dress is actually a Valentino!? I’m so happy to see that at least one celebrity decided to wear Christian Louboutin, because for a minute there, it seemed like the red carpet was full of Jimmy Choos.
No. 6: Cobie Smulders
You might know Cobie Smulders from the hit show How I Met Your Mother; if you didn’t, you’ll sure remember her now. Looking contemporary chic and oh so hot in a Reem Acra dress, the colour of the dress on her was simply vibrant. Although what made the look complete was the Etro necklace; they’re the best pieces of modern jewellery I’ve seen in a while. I don’t love the Rebecca Minkoff heels,or the animal print Jimmy Choo clutch, but that necklace made up for the other lackluster accessories.
No. 7: Miley Cyrus
I’m quite surprised that Miley Cyrus actually wore something age appropriate. The David Koma dress had an unusual embellished hem, yet still looked elegant with a slight edge. Keeping with the shoe trends of 2012 Spring Summer, she chose a pair of gorgeous pink, pointed-toe, Jimmy Choo pumps that works with the dress. I think her makeup has never looked better, and I can’t wait to tryout this sun kissed, eyelash heavy look myself. For those of you who are curious or Miley fans, her bag is Marchesa and her earrings are Neil Lane.
No. 8: Kelly Cuoco
The hostess, Kelly Cuoco, wore a tan coloured dress with flower applique that looked very feminine – and such a change from her ditzy Big Bang Theory character. Not sure I love the makeup – something a bit more ethereal would have been a charm with this soft outfit.
No. 9: Emma Stone
Who doesn’t look good in Gucci huh? Emma Stone rocked the Gucci pant suit; so glad she decided to something unique for the red carpet, unlike all her colleagues. The green raw silk jacket with chain detail really pops on the red carpet, plus it has a whimsical band camp feel to it, doesn’t it?
No.10: Nina Dobrev
I love this color, it’s fresh and suits her perfectly, but the lace details do it a dis-service. Sorry Elie Saab, looks like this one didn’t quite work. I do like the strap heels (also Saab) and matching Lauren Merkin clutch. I guess I still can’t forget her in that Donna Karan dress at the 2011 Emmy Awards. Here’s hoping she brings it for all those other red carpet appearances.
