Today is the birthday of one of my favorite people in Bollywood. Dia Mirza is one of the prettiest and most gifted actresses in B-town and I heart everything about her. So for her birthday, I’d love to share some of these wonderful things about her that make her so lovable. Happy Birthday Dee!
1) Her radiant smile
From being Miss Asia Pacific in 2000 to producing her own film, Love Breakups Zindagi in 2011, Dia sure has come a long way but one thing that we just can’t stop loving is her charismatic smile and those big, mesmerizing eyes. Her smile’s always so endearing, so adorable and you feel an instant connect with her. Also, a lot of my guy friends have a major crush on her and I know that they find her smile super hot. With looks like that, Dia can make any man (Sahil Singha is soooo lucky) go weak in the knees.
2) Gorgeous skin
Dia is the Brand Ambassador of Body Shop India, one of the most ethical (and awesome) skin care brands in the world. And they couldn’t have found someone more perfect for the job. Her skin’s just so flawless, like a cuddly newborn baby and though she says its all the exercise and diet but we believe that when you’re truly happy inside, it always reflects on your skin. So I really want this birthday to bring her more joy that keeps her glowing.
3) Effortless Chic
Over the years, Dia has evolved into being one of the effortlessly fashionable divas around. Her style is casual and chic and she loves accessorizing. Totally dig all those bright oranges and cool blues she wore during the LBZ promotions. Dia sure knows how to have fun with her fashion.
4) Spontaneous and versatile acting
Dia showed promise in her debut flick, Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein where she was paired opposite R.Madhavan. Her subsequent flicks weren’t necessarily all box office successes but she brought a lot of vivacious energy to every character she portrayed. She also surprised us with her versatile acting in Parineeta and Acid Factory. I loved her as Naina in Love Breakups Zindagi, a character Dia feels is closest to the way she is in real life and we can’t wait for her to challenge herself with some more unconventional and entertaining cinema.
5) Dia and her many Avatars
Dia is super at multitasking and it’s amazing to see how really inspiring to see how beautifully she juggles between her acting career, her production company, Born Free Entertainment, various social causes like Aids Awareness, PETA, CRY and even environmental movements like NDTV Greenathon. She has also worked with the Cancer Patients Aid Association and the Spastics Society of India. What I appreciate is that she always voices her opinion on important social issues and does not let fear of criticism come in the way of her support for certain campaigns like the Narmada Bachao Andolan. Phew. that’s a lot of work and her perseverance and dedication in pursuing such Herculean tasks is truly remarkable.
Apart from being drop-dead gorgeous and intelligent, Dia is also a good-hearted and her passion for life make her the perfect youth icon. Dia’s currently working on her first ever Bengali flick (dedicated to her mum who’s Bengali) and we hope that she has an enriching and rewarding experience working on this one. It truly is a blessing writing about someone so special. So, we at Team MissMalini wish the stunning diva the most awesome birthday ever. And we pray for all the success in the world with all the movies that she directs, produces and acts in as well as all her other endeavors. You Go, Girl!
