Country singer and actress Taylor Swift turns 22 today! From her chart-topping songs to acting gigs and her endorsements, Taylor has become America’s latest sweetheart. Unfortunately, she hasn’t found that special someone who has won her heart. Taylor has had some very public relationships and breakups that have led her to creating hit songs about her exes. Let’s take a look at a few men who have indirectly had an influence in her musical life (and all those breakup songs)!
Joe Jonas
It seemed perfect at the time: a summer romance between two upcoming and extremely popular teen idols in 2008, what could go wrong? Well apparently everything, including the rumour that Joe Jonas broke-up with her during a 27 second phone conversation. Taylor wrote the song Forever and Always based on her breakup which didn’t go down too well with Jonas, who hit back at her with his song Paranoid.
Taylor Lautner
Hottie Taylor Lautner met Swift on the sets of their film Valentine’s Day and it seems Lautner liked Swift much more than she liked him. Swift later realized how great Lautner was and wrote the song Back To December as an apology. In an interview with E! she explained: “Back to December’ is a song that addresses a first for me, in that I’ve never apologized to someone in a song before. This is about a person who was incredible to me, just perfect to me in a relationship, and I was really careless with him. So this is a song full of words that I would say to him.”
John Mayer
John Mayer and Taylor came together for the beautiful song Half of My Heart and starting dating around the time of the recording. However, no one is aware of when things went wrong and how serious their relationship was, but if you go by the lyrics of the song dedicated to Mayer (Dear John), he definitely broke her l’il heart.
Team MissMalini wishes Taylor a very happy birthday and hopes she finds Mr.Right this year! xoxo
