Dom Pérignon while tasting champagne for the first time famously said
“Come quickly I am tasting the stars.” Let’s just say, quickly they did arrive at
Queenie Singh & Dom Pérignon’s party at The Oberoi who wouldn’t? It’s only the best champagne in the world and I’m sure it was gratis! There is something about the worlds most luxurious drink that made these glitterati dress to the nines. Lets take a look at the garb on the gorgeous, shall we?
Maxi Me
It was as if maxi dresses were going out of style the next day, because almost everyone wore one. Neha Dhupia, and Sushmita Sen looked the best in their versions. Although I would have liked to see Neha up the make-up with a great cat eye that’s in style at the moment. I’m a little tired of seeing Sushmita in black, but who has time to concentrate on that when all you can look at is that giant ring she has on. Can’t wait to be able to afford one like that!
Host Queenie, was very risque showing off a bit too much leg, not that she has bad legs. Just felt the placement of the slit was awkward and didn’t work to her benefit. Plus the jewellery was a bit too forced, would have like to see some contemporary pieces instead of these very glitzy ones. Similar to how Prerna Goel accessorized her green maxi, although the actual dress was a bit too casual.
It’s nice to see the original maxi turn up worn by Shobhaa De. Ms De looks the best in her saris but I would have eliminated the long pearl necklace. Looking elegant was Rhea Pillai in a beige maxi jumpsuit although it would have looked better in a different fabric. She makes up for it with her classic hair and make up though.
Who Wore it Better? Solid v/s Print.
Showing up in shorter dresses were Gayatri Oberoi and Madhoo Shah who wore solid colours, whilst Sabina Singh and Bandana Tewari showed up in prints. Or do you prefer Ramona Rodella’s black velvet peplum dress with her duck Judith Leiber clutch?
