Eeshikka Bhagtani: “The designs which I have showcased are made with the intention drawing attention to the people who wear them, letting them stand out in the crowd, getting them noticed. The whole idea has also been to design clothes that would not see the end of their usefulness at the ramp itself but are likely to be worn in real life.”
Designer Eeshikka Bhagtani invited close friends and family for a viewing of her new collection (called Glamour) to Trilogy last Sunday evening. This new line is fashioned from fabrics like satin and lycra and include drapes, which highlight abstract motifs.
However, while most of the clothes were extremely wearable on an everyday basis, they lacked originality and style elements. In fact, there was nothing new to offer and could well have been seen on the racks at any number of boutiques in Bandra or Lokhandwala. It would have served the designer better to also have established models gracefully carry off her clothes and thereby give her show the added edge.
Spotted at the event were Aryan Vaid, Shekhar Suman, Amy and Farzad Billimoria, Karan Oberoi and we are told that Yash Birla made a late entry, much after we had left.
