If you thought we had heard the last of Sayali Bhagat after she went to town accusing Amitabh Bachchan, Arya Babbar, Sajid Khan and Shiney Ahuja of inappropriate behavior, well…. you were wrong. The damsel is now asking the foursome for an unconditional, public apology if they don’t want her to file an FIR with the police.
Again, here is her statement and the official release from her Talent (?) Management Agency. And before any of you write in to say that we are maligning her, we would like you to read the next few words – in caps and bold – carefully: THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS IN SAYALI’S OWN WORDS. Hope that is legible and easy to understand now!
Sayali Bhagat demands an unconditional public apology from Shiney, Sajid, Aarya and Amitabh Bachchan
Sayali Bhagat’s bold confessions and charges of sexual harassment from the industry have caused an uproar on micro-blogging site Twitter and other online social networking sites. In fact, Sayali was even trending on twitter yesterday for over three hours. However, there has also been a lot of confusion over Sayali leveling sexual harassment allegations against Shiney Ahuja, Sajid Khan, Aarya Babbar and Amitabh Bachchan via an open letter that was addressed to the media by the talent management agency that manages Sayali in India followed by Sayali developing “cold feet” and retracting her statement soon after.
“Crème Talent Management is a reputed and responsible talent management and media relations firm and it is our moral responsibility to protect the rights of all our clients and we are doing exactly that in the case of our esteemed client Sayali (Bhagat). Sayali was clear she could not take the harassment from Shiney, Sajid, Aarya and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and was clear she wanted the truth to come out in the open, before she quits movies and pursues her career in modeling in Milan, Italy. Since the open letter to the media was written and crafted by Sayali herself, it is my duty as her publicist and her official spokesperson to stand by her through thick and thin. We were equally confused when a certain section of the press informed us that Sayali is denying these allegations which were made by Sayali herself, in the first place. It is our moral responsibility to safeguard the modesty of a woman that has challenged and in this case, by Sayali’s own admission” says Pragya Narang, Senior Partner and Public Relations Head, Crème Talent Management.
Herewith is Sayali Bhagat’s final statement: “I have had a word with my representatives and my publicist Pragya and I demand an unconditional public apology from Shiney, Sajid, Aarya and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan following which I will not be filing any sexual harassment charges against them. I thank the media for their unconditional support” – Sayali Bhagat
And while there have been no public denials from any of the four actors who stand accused, Amitabh Bachchan had this to say on Twitter this morning….
