Raveena Tandon was a major heartthrob in the 90s and we’ve loved her movies and dance over the years. Personally, I love her smile and she’s just really charming. On her 37th Birthday, we at MissMalini.com would like to wish B-town’s original item girl lots of luck with her future endeavors and a life full of moments to cherish! And, we decided that for her birthday, we’d relive some of her most scintillating and popular songs. So, it’s time to celebrate Raveena’s birthday with some filmi naach gaana (just the way Raveena likes it).

1) Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast from Mohra

This song from Mohra became such a chartbuster that Raveena was referred to as the Mast Mast girl ever since. The song also features Akshay Kumar (who was reportedly engaged to Raveena at one point). Raveena’s signature belly and hip shaking moves made her one of the most popular actresses in the 90s.

2) Shehar Ki Ladki from Rakshak

This one is from Rakshak which had Sunil Shetty in the main lead. This was actually one of her most popular item songs ever and one of Raveena’s most scintillating dance performances. She was super cute as the Uptown Girl and we love how she experimented with her looks and hair..A complete trendsetter with her versatility!

3) Ye Raat from Aks

Raveena was scorching as a pole dancing stripper in this song.  The movie Aks was a real challenge for her as an actor and this particular song was the first of its kind. I think that with her killer confidence and her signature seductive style, only Raveena could have pulled this off so beautifully!

3) Kisi Disco Mein Jayen from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Akhiyon Se Goli Maare from Dulhe Raja

Some of Raveena’s most popular songs were with Govinda. His infectious energy looks like it really rubbed on to her… coz she dances like a dream and they have the craziest, funkiest dance moves.

Both the songs are so much fun that you actually want to dance along and the steps became really popular. Super stuff, Raveena.

4) Main Chandigarh Di Star from Buddah Hoga Tera Baap

And finally, this is Raveena’s newest item song and though the movie Buddha Hoga Tera Baap did nothing for Amitabh Bachchan and the response to the music was lukewarm.. I still loved her determination to make a smashing comeback after all these years (she’s a yummy mommy of two) and I think she managed to look more sizzling than ever.

5) Elo Ji Sanam Hum from Andaz Apna Apna

I know that this particular birthday wish actually just celebrates Raveena’s favorite songs.. but we really should keep in mind that Raveena is an exceptionally gifted actress who won a National Award for her Kalpana Lajmi’s Daman: An Act Of Marital Violence. She also received critical acclaim for her character in films like Aks and Satta. She’s won many awards for her acting skills and her style, but its only right that on a day of celebration like this we relive some of her greatest dance songs. So, that’s why I had a blast listening to all her songs over the last two decades and deciding which ones I love enough to feature on the list.

Raveena sure has blessed genes and great dedication to have pushed herself to maintain her looks and her bod and look so flawless after all these years. We love you, Raveena for motivating us to push ourselves harder in every field and for being the lovable, gorgeous diva that you are!
