The World Land Trust and the Wildlife Trust of India worked together so that they could create a network of corridors so that elephants could follow their migratory routes with little impact on human/elephant conflict. To raise money for this, Indian sculptor Arzan Khambatta featured a 630 carat emerald Ganesh along with 11 pieces of jewellery to be auctioned. Speaking about the cause was Bollywood’s darling Madhuri Dixit and Mr. David Bennett (Chairman, Europe & the Middle East, Sotherby’s). Also showing their support were Sophie Choudry, Natasha Poonawala, Anandita De, Aarti Surendranath, Shaina NC and Anna Haber.
