Neeta Lulla’s show on Day 4 of the on-going Bridal week had a touch of opulence and grandeur with innovative cuts and silhouettes. I love the traditional elegance in her bridal ensembles with Zardozi and vintage embroidery and glittering Swarovski crystals gleaming in the lights that remind you of a picture perfect Bollywood bride.
The collection had pre-stitched lehengas, sarees and ornately designed Dupattas. So desirable. Hema Malini looked divine in a a floor length white silk paneled kurta with a gorgeous lace dupatta as she personified grace in her walk down the ramp with her daughter Esha Deol.
Esha looks like she’s lost some more weight. She wowed everyone with her super abs and her well toned bod as she walked the ramp in a breathtaking lavender and silver lehenga-choli studded with crystals.
Up next was the Shane & Falguni Peacock show which was for the more contemporary and chic bride who wants to break free from tradition and dares to experiment with her look.
This collection which Falguni described as very “now” had a wonderful mix of colors, delightful use of feathers, crystal, net, chiffons and lace which conjure a nostalgic beauty.
Jackky Bhagnani walked the ramp looking hot in a heavily embroidered Sherwani. Sushma Reddy was in the front row cheering for her sister, Sameera Reddy who made a scorching showstopper.
Sameera moved gracefully in a signature pink ruffled Shane and Falguni bridal gown which had a wonderful fluidity about the design, a crystal encrusted bodice, a feather light design despite the achingly long trail (that Sameera looked a little intimidated by) and a dramatic back! The perfect Peacock Bride!
The ensemble was so ethereal and Sameera looked like a fairytale princess. Also being the total diva that is, she was oozing confidence at the press conference too as she described her love for traditional bridal outfits and how Shane and Falguni had challenged that and transformed her this evening.
All these funky bridal creations almost make you want to get married again. So happy for MissMalini coz she still gets to pick from an array of gorgeous dresses for her special day! Happiness! ( And a little green with envy)
