Last evening, model-turned-actor Vidyut Jamwal invited me for the press conference of Force at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. Touted as John Abraham’s come-back vehicle, the film will see Vidyut and John lock horns and do some pretty amazing action sequences together. What’s more, this is the first time ever that Bollywood has roped in a total hottie to play the bad guy.
When I walked into the studio where the press-con was being held, I was surprised to see that the media seating was almost fifteen feet away from the podium. But it was only when John came onto the stage and threw a motorbike (yes! a real one) off the stage, in front of the media, did I realise why we were made to sit so far back. In the movie, he chucks a bike at a bad-guy during a fight.
Then, the entire cast and crew were called on stage, among them were Genelia D’Souza and Sandhya Mridul (apparently the only two women in the film among a cast of six men), Amit Gaur (another model-turned-actor) and of course, Vidyut.
Each of the actors patiently answered multiple questions and John was very kindly full of praises for the two newer models who have now followed him into Bollywood.
After the main proceedings were over, we cornered Sandhya for a one-on-one interview and the first thing I noticed was her lovely white dress with layered fringes. Of course, I asked her who it was by, meaning which designer label. To which she replied, “F**K knows, I was going to doll-up in a saree but decided against it at the last moment and simply pulled this out from my wardrobe!” And that’s Sandhya for you; no bullsh*t, Irreverent and a lovely sense of humour! We Like.
Check out Force as it hits screens all over India this Friday.
