Hosted by Umesh Jivnani, the GAS fashion show and party held at Escobar in Bandra last night was a glittering affair that was high on energy and had Mumbai’s party-hearties visibly upset that it ended at the “early hour” of 1.30am. Nobody wanted to leave when the lights were turned on, and given a chance, this event would have rocked on for at least another two hours.
Psst! We hear the after party went on for a few more at Zinc!
The show featured top models like Sahil Shroff, Candice Pinto (our favourite), Sanea Sheikh and Tamara Moss. There were also a few new faces, one of whom took a tumble while walking the ramp-area, much like Naomi Campbell’s fall at a Vivienne Westwood show, years ago.
About the clothes; the men’s line is a combination of trends from the street and different alternating styles. Some of the garments seem to have been inspired keeping in mind old school military uniforms, but the fit is softer, with a more informal feel. For evenings and special occasions, classic nightlife shades of black and charcoal, lightened with touches of white, are the colors of the season.
As for the women’s line for Autumn-Winter 2011, look out for little slip dresses in silk jersey, denims with a twist, leggings/ jeggings, super slim fit pants and super-feminine gauzy, sheer tops with sensual lines and low necks.
We must also mention the lovely hairstyles and make up on the models courtesy Sushil Charles, Mahera Husain and Sarika Motiani from Smashh Salon in Mumbai.

Spotted at the party were film-maker Ken Ghosh, actor Ashmit Patel, designers Neeta and Nishka Lulla, singer Shibani Kashyap, model-actor Amit Gaur, Karthik Jobanputra (who managed the event), actress Karishma Tanna and designer Babita Malkani.
Our Verdict: Super fun! Super stylish!
