Pooja Bedi: “The difference between ooh and ahh is quite a few inches.”
The Kama Sutra party which was held last night in Mumbai, (to celebrate twenty years since the brand was launched), was more of a reunion of all those involved with the ad-campaign than the usual glittery Page3 affair.
Apart from all those who were associated with the brand and the advertisement – (Alyque Padamsee, Pooja Bedi, Marc Robinson, Prabhuda Dasgupta and Gautam Singhania) – there was a visible lack of the sundry socialites who add colour Mumbai’s nightlife.
In fact, the only colours one saw at this party were black and red – the colours of the brand. The JK Group’s CEO Gautam Singhania wore the Kama Sutra colours as did Alyque Padamsee, the man who was the brains behind the ad campaign. If that was not enough, the dark chocolate cake also had red icing. Smaller cupcakes doing the rounds had the number “20” in sugar icing sticking out of the top.
The evening was hosted by Cyrus Broacha and true to his inimitable style, he had everyone in laughter through most of the proceedings. Cyrus went around asking the crowd the first thing that came to mind when he said things like “Sex”, “Condom”, “Kamasutra”, “Ooh and Ah”.
Pooja Bedi was quick to reply to the last one. “The difference between ooh and ahh is quite a few inches,” she quipped with a naughty giggle.
Pooja also went on to tell us that when she shot the shower scene for the advertisement, she was too shy to hold Marc Robinson. So the make-up artist was made to caress his bare-back in the shower and it was her hands you would have seen in the film advertisement.
Also spotted at the event was Gautam’s wife, Navaz Modi Singhania.
Nice touch: The give-away goodie bag at the exit had a pack of condoms, Kama Sutra does and a box of chocolates which were molded in the form of erotic sculptures from the famous caves. We liked the chocolate figurines and don’t plan to devour them anytime soon!
