That’s right, Carrie Bradshaw is making a comeback on the small screen! The CW (the channel which also airs Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries & One Tree Hill) has picked up the prequel of Sex and the City and will be called The Carrie Diaries. The book The Carrie Diaries written by Candace Bushnell follows Carrie through her high school years in New England (wouldn’t have guessed that’s where she grew up).
The show will be produced by Gossip Girl creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz and the only member from the original team Amy Harris will be handling the script. The former cast of SATC hasn’t yet commented on their views regarding the prequel but producer Michael Patrick King told the media last month that he would never be part of a prequel, “My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33, and I took her to 43. I didn’t even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw’s parents were because I thought she only existed in Manhattan.” I hope this show lives up to the expectations but I’d be much happier if the original series came back on air!
