1) The most important thing is to “look” the part.

If you don’t dress up, you wont fit in. Always wear a show-stopping, red-carpet-worthy outfit when you set out for a fashion party. The more “Hollywood” it looks, the better. This gown by Gavin Miguel would be ideal.

2) Wear statement jewelry.

The bigger the piece is, the better. Actress Kalki Koechlin’s rings are a super example. Also, check out Queenie Singh’s brooch below. She designed it herself.

3) Bling is always “In”

And nothing could attract attention more than these fabulous embroidered pants by Hyderabad-based designer, Anand Kabra, which he showed at the Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour (BPFT) in Mumbai.

4) If you’re a guy, a chic kurta, tee shirt or shirt in a vibrant hue works wonders.

Men look boring and staid in stripes, checks and self-colours. A little brightness and some fab prints work wonders. You can always balance of the look with darker hued trousers or jeans.

5) Always make sure your nails are properly manicured and match your outfit.

In the picture below, singer Manasi Scott wears a lovely shade of nail-polish which perfectly match her Lanvin dress.

For instance, even though he’s not a Page 3 regular, we saw Arun Nayyar’s younger brother, Nicky, partying with his pals at the BPFT party in Mumbai.

7) A little PDA (Public Display of Affection) never hurt anyone.

It gives the press something to gossip about and ensures your lovey-dovey pix will make it to Page 3. Here, Laila Khan (Fardeen’s sister) can’t keep her hand’s off her husband, Farhan Furniturewalla. They are sitting in the front row of Ramona Narang’s show for the BPFT in Mumbai.

8) The most important part is to arrive in style.

Forget the family car which use use to go grocery shopping. Hire a high-end limousine for the night and when you alight from your car onto the red-carpet, you’re bound to be noticed immediately.
