Prakash Jha and Amitabh Bachchan are on cloud nine with the Supreme Court’s decision to lift the ban on their movie on Aarakshan. They’re probably so elated by the success of their venture that they went right ahead and announced their next project together. The Anna Hazare campaign is a raging issue in the country now and Prakash Jha has a penchant for choosing subjects that are based on current societal unrest.
Prakash Jha is all set to direct Big B again in a movie about a man’s peaceful protest against corruption. The movie is titled Satyagraha and Mr. Bachchan’s character will have certain elements of the non violent crusade of Anna Hazare against the government. The ‘Anna’ wave has seen support like no other and would make a great movie.
But, will the super talented team of Jha and Bachchan be able to translate the passion of such a movement and the sentiments of an entire nation about corruption to the silver screen? I was totally moved by Mr. Bachchan’s character of an idealistic and righteous college principal in Aarakshan. I’m sure he’s going to take on the challenge of playing this dynamic and complex character that takes on the system with the greatest of ease. What do you guys think?
