There’s been a lot of press around designer Marc Jacobs over the past week. First, we hear he made a hush-hush trip to Delhi (and that may lead to him incorporating Indian elements in an upcoming collection); and then we hear that the LVMH Group may move him over to Dior to take-over after John Galliano’s ousting.
Now while Marc may be a good designer for Louis Vuitton, his pared-down style is totally opposite to the extravagance Dior is known for. In fact, pictures were recently released of his bag collection for 2012 and I personally found them tremendously uninspiring.
Quite frankly, the colours and designs are far too basic and… did I say uninspiring? Anybody in Mumbai would tell you that the boutiques in Bandra and Lokhandwala and promenades like Colaba Causeway and Linking Road have far better bags on display.
Would you honestly spend a few thousand dollars on these bags which look like they came straight out of a sweat-shop from some back alley in Bangkok? Write in with your comments.
