For most, Independence Day is a national holiday celebrated hoisting the flag and watching firecrackers. Editor of Men’s Health, Jamal Shaikh thought it would be a refreshing change for B-town actors to celebrate Independence Day competing with their kids in a football match. The idea struck a chord and I found myself on the bleachers watching the match. The players were Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Vatsal Sheth, Sajid Nadiadwala among others. While the dads were in white Being Human t-shirts, the kids were in black. Obviously everyone was rooting for the kids to win and they did. 🙂 The surprise element was Salman Khan. He showed up unexpectedly, watched the match, gave all the kids footballs to take home and awarded the winning team the trophy. With Salman Khan in the house, most of us couldn’t stop smiling. Especially, since he looked so charming in a paper-boy hat and rolled up shorts. Jamal Shaikh was thrilled too, sharing with me a Salman Khan anecdote and the story of his Being Human watch. He pointed out that he may be wearing a Men’s Health t-shirt but he wasn’t out of the Being Human pack. It was one fun Sunday evening followed by a mellow party at Olive, Bandra!
