Flowing gowns, ruby red lips, perfect hair-dos, diamond jewellery and seductive perfumes were all present at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2011. The awards honour the best in beauty and wellness. This year, in their second edition, the ‘people’ category was introduced and of course, Madhuri Dixit Nene was awarded the Beauty Legend Award. Following close was Anushka Sharma who won the Fresh Face Award thanks to readers’ votes on Vogue.in The other Bollywood winners were Aishwarya Rai recognized as a Global Beauty Icon and Ranbir Kapoor recognised as the Most Beautiful Male. The best part of the awards night, if you ask me, was that it was short and well-timed. The winners were chosen after an expert judging committee had gone through a formalized and exhaustive process. The jury consisted of Mickey Contractor, Adhuna Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Dr. Malvika Kohli, Gayatri Oberoi, Simone Singh, Natasha Poonawalla, Vogue’s Priya Tanna and Geeta Rao.
