Yes! You read that right. There was wine (by Turning Point)! There was House music! And there was Amy Winehouse too… in spirit, at least, as drag artiste Josie Paris dressed up like the late jazz diva in tribute to her memory.
The intrepid MissMalini hosted yet another super-fab party at Zenzi on Wednesday night, especially for her friends and fans from the LGBT community in Mumbai. Ashwin Deo of Turning Point Wines sponsored the vino and hence the event was aptly called: Turning Point Unwine’d – Cheers To Queers with MissMalini.
However, a number of non-gay people were also on hand to celebrate with their gay friends. Hence, the pictures don’t necessarily reflect the person’s sexuality.
The folks at Zenzi were happy to dish out their infamous “China Boxes” which is a ready meal of rice or noodles in a box with your choice of veg or non-veg ingredients.
Unlike most gay parties in Mumbai – where Bollywood music rules the turn-tables – this party had some amazing dance and house music which kept everybody on their toes. Stylist Marv D’Souza was particularly a treat to watch has he danced in flaming red gumboots.
Here are all the pix of all the fun and action….
Some of MissMalini’s celebrity friends like models Liza Golden, Surelee Joseph, Aquin Pais, actress Hazel Croney, MTV Veejay Siddharth Bhardwaj and Channel [v]’s VJ Andy also popped in for a bit of merriment!
MissMalini Says…
“I could not have pulled this off without some stellar love and co-hosting by my favorite Queeps! (look I made a new word!) Marv D’Souza (the designer who made our Halloween costumes below last year, can you guess/remember who were supposed to be? *lol*), Sushil Charles who owns the fab salon Smash (I plan to get Smash-ed pretty soon, watch out for my next haircut blog!) and of course Team MissMalini’s very own Ranjit Rodricks who is all sunshine, all the time. I love you guys! xoxo
P.S. Marv you’re so right! We really do pose the same one-leg-up-and-grin way! *Lol*”
