While MissMalini’s Cointreauversial party was a blast, planning it was even more fun. You should know by now that we’re #nerdy and #geekchic. We travel with our laptops and are addicted to our Blackberry’s/iPhone’s. On the day of the party, we were at Blue Frog well in advance. As it turned out, the computers and cables weren’t on our side. Nowshad Rizwanullah and Bavidra Mohan were figuring out how to run twitter and a slideshow of pictures for at least a couple of hours. Some different software, applications and browsers later, they had cracked it for MissMalini, me, Riddhima and Shamita. The control desk was ready and we were set to make #MMCointreau party a social-media enabled one. (Nowshad and Bavidra aren’t about work and no play. What you didn’t see was them playing up their characters and adoring the Dita Von Teese cardboard cut-out.)

For MissMalini’s Cointreauversial party, we set up different booths. b:blunt occupied two of those to transform the guests’ hair and make-up to look  burlesque and gangsta. However, it had slipped our minds that they  wouldn’t be able to operate out of booths. We had to arrange for tall  tables and bar stools to ensure their smooth operation. Another booth  was stocked with party favours for the guests to come and pick up  anything from a boa feather to a cigar or a bow-tie especially designed  by Urvshe. We got rid of all the packaging to save on our guests’ time.

Of course, it wasn’t a day’s work. We had a couple meetings at Blue  Frog starting a week prior to the party. On our first visit and  encounter with their WiFi, we discovered Blue Frog’s network was called  Ribbit. Keeping it silly! 😛
