The other day, I was at a theatre and strolling to the canteen when I saw the poster of this film. It was the name that caught my attention. If you only glance at it in passing, you think it’s some sort of a cuss word. And you have to look again to make sure. Turns out it’s a 3D film primarily aimed at kids. Of course, kids tend to take their parents, relatives, etc. to watch such films.
While on the subject, Chhutanki is India’s first ever live animation film in 3D. It’s an Astute Media Vision film directed by Pankaj Sharma who has to his credit films like Bal Ganesh, Panga Gang, Bal Hanuman and Bal Hanuman – Return of the Demon. Anuj Pandit, Nikita More, Punit Issar, Upasana Singh and others form the live cast of the film. Sanjay Dhakan has given the music.
The plot revolves around the animated character Chhutanki. After a mysterious birth, he is brought up and trained by Akhand Dev. The villain, Takla Baba on the other hand is a live character. His sidekick is also a live character, Surili and his animated goons are Saand, Crocodile and Dragons. They have managed to capture Chhutanki’s childhood and create a clone force. Chhutanki’s raison d’être is to save his childhood and thwart Takla Baba. Suraj and Chanda help him in the endeavour.
