Traveling has become such a huge part of any fashionista’s life, whether for work, vacation or that romantic get-away, we’ve got to be travel ready. Personally, I hate flying and airports; the air pressure, the security checks and the long hours are all highly stressful especially on my body. Having said that, a girl still needs to be dressed well, yet comfortable. Here are some tips on how to best be prepared with a little style.

Jersey Tops or T-Shirts

Depending on where your final destination is, accordingly choose a jersey top or t-shirt. If you’re going to the Bahamas (Lucky you!) then wear a sleeveless tank or cute t-shirt because once you land you’ll be ready to remove any unnecessary layers. The reason jersey is such a great fabric for traveling is because it doesn’t wrinkle easily and lets you breath in it too.

Loose Pants or Maxi Skirts

I know a lot of people who travel in jeans, but I find that they are most uncomfortable and after a little travel fatigue, those jeans seem to get tighter no? I personally love to travel in loose fitted trousers, I prefer high-waisted for ultimate comfort and they just look so stylish while waiting for your bags at baggage claim! A lot of people now opt for maxi skirts, which are not a bad idea either. Just make sure they are soft and in a stretch fabric to give you that movement you need.

Fitted Blazer or Knit Sweater

It’s always cold at airports and sometimes even the synthetic blankets (yuck!) are not warm enough. That’s why I like to carry a knit sweater, especially the shawl collar ones that can be wrapped around your neck for extra warmth. Blazers are also a good option while traveling, but a little uncomfortable to wear on long flights. If you love your blazers though, ask the flight attendant to hang it in their coat closet so that it’s wrinkle free when you reach your destination.

Flats and Blazers

There are many reason to wear comfortable flats while traveling, the most obvious being comfort, can you imagine running to your gate in heels? Also, now days security always makes you take your shoes off, and it’s just plain annoying to have to un-strap or tie or button your shoes! I love a nice pair of comfy flats that are easy to slip on and off, if you want something a bit more dressy opt for brogues, some have elastic laces so you can slip your feet in without having to tie the laces.

Laptop or Tote Hand Bag

Who doesn’t travel with their laptop or iPad now days? The need for a big hand bag is a must and there are so many fashionable options available. I love Marc Jacobs’ laptop bags they have a lot of compartments to store all your tickets, passport and other document needed. If you don’t need your laptop, then just get a large tote bag and put in it a passport travel bag. These little travel bags are perfect for keeping your boarding passes, passport, credit cards etc in one place. Plus they come in cute colours and prints.
