Bollywood @ Cannes

Aishwarya Rai celebrated her decade long affair with Cannes. Of course, the point was truly made with the announcement of her next film aptly titled ‘Heroine‘. With the documentary Bollywood: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told, we not only showed Cannes our world on celluloid but also partied filmy ishtyle on the red carpet. Saif Ali Khan and Sonam Kapoor made their presence felt at Cannes as brand ambassadors. Sonam made heads turn despite being unidentified by Reuters. Minissha Lamba, on the other hand, created a stir on her return from Cannes as she was detained at Mumbai airport for carrying undeclared jewellery.

IIFA

Films This Week

Pyaar Ka Punchnama, 404 and Kashmakash released on Friday, 20th May 2011. Pyaar Ka Punchnama is a bro flick that I would rate 3/5. In addition to an amazing monologue, it has quite a few laughs and the novelty of an underexposed genre for Bollywood. 404 is a psycho thriller that I would rate 3.5/5. It engages your mind, keeps you guessing till the end and showcases strong performances. Kashmakash is actually the dubbed Hindi version of Bengali film Nauka Dubi, directed by Rituparno Ghosh, based on Rabindranath Tagore‘s story.
